After a few years in general practice, Dr. Amanda Aldridge decided to pursue further education in alternative medicine to complement traditional western veterinary medicine. She completed the Parker Chiropractic College's Animal Chiropractic Program and obtained the Animal Veterinary Chiropractic Association Certification in 2005. Studying Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine was also on her mind, so she attended the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society's Acupuncture Course and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2006.
Since acquiring her certifications Dr. Aldridge has spent most of her time as a natural and holistic veterinarian, providing acupuncture and chiropractic treatments along with nutritional counseling, western supplements, Chinese herbal remedies and physical therapy recommendations. The goal of her treatments is to provide natural options to improve the health and quality of life of dogs and cats without harmful side effects. Typical patients include the older arthritic and weak pets to the young performance agility and show dogs, pets with chronic allergies or intestinal problems, pets with lameness and back pain, pets with cancer, and even pets without medical issues whose families want them to be as healthy and well balanced as possible. Dr. Aldridge has relocated to Orange County in the spring of 2011 and is available to see pets by appointment at the Animal Hospital of Irvine.
